Mumbles Rangers Under 8's @ Mynydd Newydd
Sunday 23rd September 2007
MUMBLES
RANGERS 0-0 UNION RANGERS
TEAM: LUCAS WILLIAMS, CALLUM ELWIN, DANNY HASSAN, JACK DUFFY,
ELLIOTT HOLLAND, SHANE HARRIES, JOSH WALLIS.
On a
cold, wet morning in Penlan all 3 games turned out to be a hard
fought battles. Against Union Rangers chances were few and far
between as both sides struggled with the weather conditions, but
strong defending from Danny, Jack and Callum made sure Mumbles did
not concede and with Lucas returning from injury, he was looking as
sharp as ever. Tireless work from Elliott in midfield and a shot
late on from Shane which somehow refused to go in, looked like we
would soon take the lead but even aftera few solo runs from Josh the
final result was a draw which possibly was a fair result.
MUMBLES
RANGERS 0-1 GARDEN VILLAGE
TEAM: SHAQUILLE
FREDRICKSON, BRADLEY DENTY, SAM HOLLOWOOD, TOM ANDREW, ZAC WILLIAMS,
SAM WADE, RHYS THOMAS.
With Mumbles about to play
possibly the best team they have encountered this year this really
turned out to be a close and excellent game. Good passing from both
teams was a pleasure to watch, however GV having the advantage of
the wind first half they scored in the last few minutes before the
interval with a shot in off the post.
The second half saw Mumbles
apply all the pressure but with a shot from Rhys being deflected
wide Village managed to hold on to take the win.
MUMBLES
RANGERS 2-1 GOWERTON
TEAM: SHAQUILLE/LUCAS,
SAM HYDE, LLOYD EVANS, FINLEY CAPEL, JACOB SEAL, JACK DUFFY, SHANE
HARRIES
The
final game was a well deserved win with a great strike from Sam
Hollowood to make it 1-0 after beating two players. The second half
was hard fought affair with us now facing a strong wind but despite
this it was all Mumbles pressure. Great runs from Jack and Jacob and
some solid tackling from Sam, Lloyd and Finley Mumbles played some
of the best football of the day and soon after Tom came on as sub he
scored from a fine strike to make it 2-0.Gowerton pulled one back
late on but it was too late and Mumbles held on.
